MORE than £2,000 was raised for good causes from the proceeds from St Michaels annual village fete on Saturday.
The event was moved indoors, into the village hall, because of the inclement weather, but the weather failed to put a damper on the spirits of the organisers or those who attended.
Mrs Susan Phillips, wife of organiser Mr Adrian Phillips said everyone had enjoyed the event, which included traditional style stalls such as tombola, bric-a-brac and cakes as well as teas.
VIPs attending were Mr Barry Band (representing the North West Air Ambulance) and Mrs Dorothy Saville (an original member of the village fete committee) who cut the cake baked for the occasion by June Atkins.
Mrs Phillips said £1,700 had been raised for St Michaels Church bell assembly reairs and £350 for the North West Air ambulance.
