POLICE in Wyre are appealing for information after a pensioner in Catterall suffered a distraction burglary.

Officers have released an Evofit picture of a man they would like to speak to in relation to the offence which happened on Garstang Road at 6pm on September 6.
The man approached the ladies' house looking for gardening work but was turned away. The same male returned a short time later saying he needed access to her rear garden as he was working on an adjoining property. As he did so a second, unseen, person sneaked into the ladies' kitchen and removed a handbag.
The man police would like to speak to is, white, slim, short black curly hair, very blue eyes, fresh looking and clean shaven. He spoke with an Irish accent and was wearing dark blue anorak, and dark blue tracksuit bottoms with three white stripes down each leg.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC Steven Montgomery on 01524 63333 or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
